This page is dedicated to our beautiful four legged friends that have retired from the life of being a therapy dog or crossed the rainbow bridge.
David and Sophie
Hello Everyone !! This is very hard for me to write but Thursday, 7/26th will be Ms Sophie's and my last day of doing official Pet Therapy visits at the airport. Over the last month Sophie has been rushed to the emergency room two times . As most of you know pugs have a difficult time with breathing and also her eye sight is failing and is on drops twice a day for that and ear drops every morning. Sophie was born with deformed hips and with her advancing age time is taking a toll on her and her back legs are starting to give out. Sophie and I started out doing Pet Therapy at the Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina back in 2010/2011 and from there we moved to Wilmington ,North Carolina continuing with Pet Therapy at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center. When we moved to Florida in 2016 we continued with our Pet Therapy visits at the VA Nursing Home in Port Charlottte, Brookdale Assisted living in Punta Gorda and also visits at the Punta Gorda Airport. It has been a great experience for Sophie and I and we will truly miss you all... I do hope we will be invited back for a special occasion or a surprise visit once in awhile. You are all special and provide a great service to our community. We thank each and everyone of you for all you do to bring people love and happiness through pet therapy. Sincerely, David Djerf & Sophie !!

Boone, Janis Church's 9 year old fur baby, has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts go out to Janis. Boone was an amazing therapy dog that was a constant at the Toledo Blade Elementary and Deep Creek Elementary schools reading programs, as well as being loved and adored at the FSW campus in Punta Gorda, at the Children's Advocacy Center and 20th Judicial Circuit Courthouse. Boone was a trickster and was famous for bringing his mom a Kleenex when she sneezed and the kids loved it when he said his prayers. Boone was a special dog with a special owner.
